'About time a pastel painting showed up here, huh? This is one of a pair of paintings done on 16" squares of Richeson board. They are both based on observed house scenes in my immediate Vermont neighborhood. I used the actual places as merely a jumping off place, making the transition from actual to "my version" via a series of pencil sketches.

January - The southern regional hub of the Vermont Pastel Society is exhibiting recent work at People's United Bank on Main Sreet in Bellows Falls, Vermont every bank day this month.
April - Guilford Vermont Welcome Center. My recent landscape and garden paintings will be on display 24hrs a day between March 29 and April 25.
Interstate 91 North, at mile marker 5.6, (just south of Exit 1 for Brattleboro.) Bathrooms, wifi, nice place to take a break from driving. Stretch your legs.

June and July - Opening reception at Butternut; Saturday June 13th 4-6pm of Earthly Delights-Behold the Garden. Exhibit continues through July 25th, 2015. The art work of over 12 sculptors, fabric artists and painters. I sent several pastels.
November - I will be showing a selection from the 50 States Plein Air Painting Project in the brand new, street level gallery at the River Gallery School on Main Street in Brattleboro, Vermont - next to the Latchis (details to follow)

About Me
- Rodrica Tilley
- I am a pastel painter working in the studio as well as en plein air. My work is colorful and hopeful and focused on the landscape. I love to stand out in a field and make a painting that expresses my feelings of and reactions to that time and place. I can think of no better goal than what Georgia O’Keeffe said: …”filling a space in a beautiful way.” I hope viewers will pause in front of my landscape paintings and see common sights in a new way. My work is in collections world wide. I hold signature memberships in International Plein Air Painters and Landscape Artists International. I am a member of Pastel Society of America, Southern Vermont Art Center and Vermont Pastel Society. My work has been exhibited for over 35 years including 11 one-woman shows.
